hey hey hey

Speaking to Alan about the "bad ass character," I watched a feature on the sci fi channel about this. They said what they tried to do was try to break new ground by really combining Sci and Fi. They said, usually when it is a horror game, it needs to be as realistic as possible, so that the player can relate to the experience as much as possible. What they're trying to do is keep that, but still make it futuristic. (400 years in the future.) So Isaac is just a normal guy who volunteers to attempt to fix the communications issue with the ship the bulk of the game takes place on.

Looking forward to this. Gonna base what I buy it for on how well i run the demo :P

Rubbish. Just because YOU personally feel that this is what makes a game frightening, does not mean that everyone concurs. the game that you seem to quote as being 'scary' is a complete pile o'. I would (and know at least a dozen other gamers who also would) rather see the supernatural taken to a new level as it has been done in this title compared to some 'Scream' cr@p rehashed yet again by greedy developers.

Oh, and innovative gaming does not always just mean it being unlikely 'for the character to get out of his/her predicament without getting #$%^ed'. It means an original plot device, well scripted FMV and in-game sequences that provide unusual and genuinely frightening experiences, and where possible, highly intuitive gameplay. (Half Life / Half Life 2 / Far Cry reference)

Hello, umm a lil something I think Schofield should know about horror games, the premise is very important and honestly the scariest of survival horror games is a game the has a premise that the gamer can see them selves in. Im not talking about how this game is futuristic but I am reffering to the characters in the game, if the game has a bad ass character who knows how to kill zombies it wont be as scary as lets say, an average teenager stabbing a zombified police officer to death (Siren: Blood Curse refereence) anywho my point is that if you want to make the scariest game ever its not about making it hard exactly, its about making it seem unlikly for the character to get out of his/her predicament without getting #$%^ed, pardon my language.
Look forward to the game though,
