Ever wondered what happened to the island once connected to Paradise City in Burnout Paradise? Most of you probably have no clue what we’re talking about, but those of you who do recall seeing the now missing appendage, Criterion has announced that new islands will be added via Playstation Network, with the first being made available for download soon. That and a new vehicle for good measure.

Criterion’s Alex Ward noted on the official forums:

This bridge leads to what we reveal today to be THE FIRST in a SERIES of Islands adding to Paradise City, EACH OFFERING A DIFFERENT TYPE OF GAMEPLAY…..

The brand new car shown in the two videos is called The Dust Storm and is scheduled to arrive on the PSN alongside the new island. A specific release date and pricing are yet to be revealed.
