Spanish magazine PSM got some playtime with the multiplayer mode of the soon to be released GTA IV. Until now, not much was revealed about game modes or other multiplayer related things, but the Spaniards were allowed to play seven out of a total of fifteen different game modes supporting up to 16 players.

Some of these modes may sound a little strange, others are quite self-explanatory. Since the magazine only got to play seven of them, we’ll have to wait for more details about the other ones. What we know so far is that in Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch it’s the usual stuff where you shoot everything that moves. The host has a bunch of options available where the amount of pedestrians, traffic and police intervention can be adjusted. Race and GTA Race is about racing laps while blowing up your opponents with molotov cocktails. Cops N Crooks is similar to what we used to play when we were 4, except that the cops now have a radar to track the crooks, but not vice versa. In Mafia Work and Team Mafia Work you play a henchman where you take jobs from a crime boss and try to beat your rivals. The good news is that the map on which can be played is the same one as used in the single player mode. The entire list is as follows:
