Surfing the internet is a wonderful ability that often nets surprising results. Today’s surfing has provided an insight into the scale of what faces us when we pop Grand Theft Auto IV into our disc trays come the 29th April. A city map, a subway map, controls and supposed multiplayer shots all wait for you after the jump.

By the looks of the above images, it seems someone has been lucky enough to get their hands on either a final version of the game or some sort of inside artwork stuff. Either way it’s exciting to see the size with which we get to play with. It certainly looks plenty big enough without the feeling of being lost that many felt with San Andreas.

The other images below are apparently from the multiplayer portion of the game. They were put up initially by Xbox World, but soon got taken down. Not before someone managed to copy the images to another location to be presented to the internet. There’s even more over at Kotaku.

All of this will still go down as a rumour for the time being, since nothing official has come from Rockstar yet. However everything looks pretty legitimate. If the first batch of shots are indeed real, it might also suggest that GTA IV is very close to going Gold, meaning it will be hitting the printers soon. We can but hope.
