Exclusive GTA IV content rumored for PS3
According to Eurogamer who claim to have a source close to Rockstar North Sony managed to get exclusive content for next years Grand Theft Auto IV in a deal with Rockstar.
Just like Microsoft Sony too managed to get exclusive downloadable content for GTA IV on their new console. This content will made available via Sony’s online network.
So what will this content be? Microsoft announced exclusive access to two downloadable, epic episodes of GTA IV via Xbox Live, each with hours of entirely new gameplay and available only on Xbox 360 just months after the release of the title. According to the source we can expect the same deal for the PlayStation 3, but unique for the PlayStation 3 platform. The source says that we should expect new areas: Think of the world as a large island - the new downloadable areas will be like smaller islands linking into it.
There has been no official response from Rockstar on the rumor, and knowing them there probably won’t be a response for a while.
We can expect Grand Theft Auto IV for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 in the US on 16th October 2007. The game will be arriving three days later in Europe.

Doesn’t surprise me I figured that this was what Rockstar had in mind to begin with, we’ll just have to wait and see how much is going to be charged for the downloads.
Yeah, I just hope it won’t be to expensive, but i’m thinking the 1200 price range.
yeah, not something new.
the “two downloadable, epic episodes of GTA IV via Xbox Live, each with hours of entirely new gameplay and available only on Xbox 360 just months after the release of the title” is probably just more pizza-delivery and stuff like that…
i bet the GTA IV on the 50gb Blu-Ray will look better. the 9gb DVD is just too old…
It won’t look any better, Rockstar just won’t be able to put hours upon hours of HD Movies on the Xbox 360’s version. Too bad.
I’m also thinking that it’ll look better on the Xbox 360 because of experienced gained with programming for Tabble Tennis.
Table Tennis was a tech demo for the new GTA engine, which most likely means it (the engine) is already running on the ps3, I would wager actually developing the engine on the ps3 would be more quality experience then building a game out of the engine itself. And who is to say Table Tennis can’t be run on the ps3? Do you know how Rockstar develops games? As for PS3 looking better I doubt that as most likely whatever is on the 360 version is going to be on the ps3 version. 9gb really isn’t too old if its the lowest common denominator.
Since Sony announced the other day they would be charging for game demos, I hope it doesn’t mean we will be paying for these game extras as well.
does it matter what media the game comes in? Both systems have a hard drive. The BRD’d will come in extrememely useful when epic games come out(ff,phntsystr…). We probably wont see these until late next year. Matter of fact all the Ps3(1 year out)and 360(2years) heavy hitters should start coming out by late summer. The xbox 360 is quite capable, in 2 years though we will all see what the superior product is. I dont expect it to be the 360 though, unless they alter their business strategy…or drop m$rp dramatically
I doubt it will be Sony unless they seriously change their marketing strategy, they are already in danger of becoming a joke.
ps was the underdog 10 years ago.
ps2 was the preborn….still matured quicker than xbox( btw xbox has been canned by MS)
it appears xbox supporters have been shafted as ms focuses on the 360. Will this affect fanbase????
ps3 will continue tradition…..i dont think the other companies stand a chance. Ms is a software company first and foremost, even th ewindows xp products have issues. People dont remember problems or recalls for their favorite product. Reality is: their both companies ran by humans. humans make mistakes.
Lets look at what you have said and try to understand why people you think are your friends hate you.
PS2 matured quicker than Xbox.
Things don’t mature quicker than something else. Everything matures at the same rate, time is a constant (unless you want to get into relativity). The effects of maturity are what is different, but that is beside the point.
What you perhaps wanted to say was that the PS2 matured before the Xbox, I wouldn’t disagree. Just like I wouldn’t disagree with saying that Elvis matured before the three fuckwits from Hanson, because (have you spotted it yet?) Elvis was “born” before Hanson so it makes perfect sense that he woul mature before them. (now replace Elvis with PS2 and Hanson with Xbox and read the scentence again).
Xbox has been canned by MS. Don’t know if thats true but even if it has whats your point? I don’t give a shit, I have a 360 and don’t really care for people holding onto history. Commadore don’t make a C64 anymore either, still I don’t care. People don’t drive around in a horse and cart as part of normal practice these days, bothered?
Probably it wil affect fanbase, it will probably force people sitting on last-gen consoles to upgrade faster, that as well as the fact that you don’t require a mortgage to update to next-gen MS.
PS3 will continue tradition, of what? Lies? CGI passed off as real game footage? The ability to deal massive damage to its marketing strategy as well as giant crabs?
Hate to inform you but the tradition of the console market has been in the past that a console maker becomes all powerful fearing no other rival, then usually gets usurped by some little upstart looking to make a name for itself while the big boy becomes complacent.
MS is a software company first and foremost? Oh well thats good since this is usually the arguement PS fanboy has for his system of choice being so great, the software created for it.
People don’t remember problems or recalls? Wrong again, everyone will remember problems and recalls, the difference is when this situation arises how it is dealt with is what will leave the lasting impression.
Example, the problems with the early 360’s and the outstanding customer service and replacement policy, compared with the shoddy PS2 (made from plastic parts that wore down over time) the shitty customer service when it stopped working and the expectation to pay upto 2/3 of the original price to have it fixed but only be given a 3 month warrenty on the parts and labour.
Both are run by humans, but some humans make far larger mistakes than others like say Hitler compared to the man who came second place in a quiz show. Both made mistakes but you remember the one standing shouting his lies in public for all to hear and make their own mind up that he is a bit of a tit, like you and your lame arguments.
So if you are going to argue about things at least try and think about what you want to say first in the hope that you don’t come over as a silly little fanyboy that is not capable of looking at all the facts presented to you, not just the ones Sony tell you.
Well nice to see you have a comeback DRAMA.
i thought 360 got exclusive content this game shouldent even come out on ps3
Yea ok coojo, GTA IV shouldn’t be avaliable for the PS3? Cummon PS# is 3 times the machine compared to teh hardware of the 360 by the way this was exclusive to Sony before it was even released to XBox. It doesn’t matter anyways IV will look beter on the PS3 anyways not to mention that 50 gig’s of storage space on a Blu-Ray Disc. You Microsoft people are still back in the DVD age.
