Battlefield: Bad Company update in certification
Battlefield: Bad Company developer DICE has been listening to all of the feedback from gamers across the globe and has a treat in store for them. Over on the official Bad Company website, EA has confirmed that the game’s first update is in the process of testing and certification.
The first update for Battlefield: Bad Company is coming in the form of The Conquest Pack. This is a brand new game mode entitled Conquest and is currently going through the testing and certification process. Provided that it passes certification, then it shouldn’t be too long before it is available for gamers to download. However, this is not the only thing that DICE is working on. The following is a list of things that will be investigated for possible future Bad Company updates.
- Clan support/private rooms/team chat
- Auto balancing on servers
- Continued support against stats exploits
- VOIP issue on PS3
- Squads might be split up when joining a server as a squad. This is due to team balancing in the games that are being joined, and usually resolves itself in round 2.
As always, it is great to see developers listening to gamers and taking their advice on board. Hopefully the issues that are to be investigated will be addressed in future updates. Is there anything else that you’d like DICE to implement in future updates?
Conquest mode isn’t a brand new game mode, it’s the mode that has been used in Battlefield games since BF1942. This update is honestly why I bought the game.
this game is pretty sweet in itself, but even with the fact that ps3 & 360 have downloadable content, this game mode shouldve been included with the game along with capture the flag and traditional deathmatch. but anyways, this would make a good addition to this already excellent game
This is a great game with loads of potential, but why would they release a game like this with only one/two online modes!?! Whats happened DM TDM & CTF!!!
The battlefield series has been made on conquest and assault lines modes. Conquest mostly, and there has been CTF. there has never been an official DM, or TDM or anything like that. dont ask for it, it wont come, and the game wont suck.
To start with , Battlefield has always had private AND public servers, not just dedicated garbage servers running the same stock settings. this NEEDS to be fixed, it is broken.
2nd , where is the mouse and keyboard support ? NO FPS should be playd with a controller. No controller ( 6 axis , dual shock , auto rappid , whatever) can ever match the precision of the mouse. Again, this needs to be fixed as it is broken.
3rd , Point number 1 is just so broken and in need of fixing it should be sayd 2 times.
4th , Chat , this one as been mauled over so much already i need not even say whats broken there. Beeds fixing.
5th, where is the map editing tools. The best part of the BF games has always been that people can make there own maps. This is certianly somthing that needs to b in there, maybe not broken , but we want anyway.
Our clan wants clan support and mic support and private matches more than anything, its so botched that you cant even get your friends into a game on the same team, its ridiculous esp cuz squad invite doesnt work half the time.
how long do we have to wait now before we see our update for this game and when does it come out thnxs…
Personally I don’t want people to use a mouse and keyboard. then everyone must go out and buy one. there are so many advantages to a mouse and keyboard that on a console when against a person with a controller. the mouse and keyboard will always come out on top, ALWAYS. you want a mouse and keyboard then go play on a computer not a gaming console.
As for the VOIP issue, it’s a simple fix and I know for a fact it is. This should be the first thing they do, not adding new stuff. They should be fixing this problem ASAP!!!. I think personally it’s going to take them more about 4 months till they fix it. It should only take 2 weeks at the most.
its funny that you think u no wut ur talking about. i program crap like this for a living. VOIP and in game Chat type systems. i dont think u realize how hard it is to make a VOIP program work IN A GAME with low bandwitdth so you dont need a T3 connection. the programming is difficult and takes years to make it. Ventrilo is a good example, as it took a long time to make it, but this software has many problems. The bandwidth it takes up would only allow u to play battlefield bad company on multiplayer with like, one other person and even that would b laggy.
Huge dissapointment that there’s no KB/M support. I’ll never understand what consol fans have against KB/M. Everybody knows it’s the superiour control for shooters, and when designers say “here you go consol guys, now you can use the better controller” they go “NO FU, DON’T WANT TO STUPID FLOPPY KEYBOARD! I WANTZ TO UZE MY CONTROLLER AND NOT GET PWNED BY STUPID MICE!”
Frankly, it’s stupid. KB/M is better. Anybody not wanting a shooter to support KB/M is either the most poor person on the planet (can’t afford a 10 dollar KB or a 5 dollar mouse?), or they actually believe that PC players are all around better, and don’t want them playing in the same games as them (which is not true).
Or maybe they prefer playing games in the comfort of their armchair with a comfortable controller in their hand with the thought that they don’t have to be the best but that they just have to have fun on equal footing as everyone else playing it.

It should really be a developer’s job to make sure their game plays as well as possible using the controller supplied with the format it’s released on. In this instance Dice have done well and created a scheme that feels natural on a pad, meaning 100% of X-Box & PS3 owners will enjoy the game as it was designed to be played.
And Sirami? Before you infer that console owners can’t spell you should check that your own spelling is “superiour.”

Good game but needs:
-Splash damage increased like grenades and m203’s to do more damage.
-Increase bullet damage and make half the assault rifle and spec op’s rounds it shouldn’t take 20 hits to kill someone!
-Mouse and keyboard support
-Select who you would like to spawn on.
-Be able to choose if you want to join a squad or play lone wolf.
-make more ranks and unlocks i already have the best rank within a week!
-More maps 8 is nowhere near enough!
-CTF DM and TDM would be nice.
Knife kills should register abit better whenever i knife a sniper thats in a bush it doesn’t register!
-Claymore’s would be good for sniper’s they worked well in BF2
no tdm dm or ctf that is not bf thats call of queers
bfbc need new maps and more maps for conquest and new vichels
Team deathmatch is a must!
VOIP needs sorting
Splash/weapon damage needs increasing
all in all great fun to play!!!!!!
