Firmware 2.41 already online
A tad earlier then expected, Playstation 3 firmware 2.41 is already available for download. This update is supposed to fix the problems with the XMB not displaying correctly after installation of firmware 2.40. Only a small percentage of users were having trouble with this, but Sony still decided to rush this fix as soon as possible.
Sony’s network update page isn’t up to date yet, but it’s doubtful anything interesting will be put there as there hasn’t been changed much since 2.40 probably. For the list of changes, just head to this previous news post.
Hi, everyone. As many of you know, we released PS3 firmware update v2.40 last week, but had to take it offline temporarily because, for a limited number of users, the XMB wouldn’t display after the update was installed. We’ve been able to fix the problem, and I’m happy to report that firmware update v2.41 will be released shortly.
We want to extend our apologies to the PlayStation community for any inconvenience. Now we’ll be looking forward to seeing everyone online and racking up those trophies!
In-game XMB and Trophies

I got it and it all works great, the in-game XMB works as you would expect, the thing i love the most is now it caches the thumbnails from the store so the store loads up almost straight away,not tried anything else out yet.
Now all we need is some updates to games to add trophies support, as there isn’t one game that has trophies yet, even the Stardust HD upgrade has been removed and not replaced since 2.41 was up.
Come on Sony get that big boot out and kick some slow ass developers about.

this page has no activity on it compared to Xboxic. What is up with that? Maybe some publishers should come up with some original games we can’t get on 360 so we have something to talk about. The only game that I would buy at this point in time on my PS3 instead of 360 is Soul Caliber 4.
I buy all multi-format games for the PS3 instead of my 360 for 2 reasons 1. I like to able to rely on the machine switching on when i want it to instead of blowing up and 2. The noise of the 360 is a joke it sounds like a tornado.
It’s all just personal preference, your right though no activity on this page compared to xboxic but everything has to start somewhere.
You are right about the noise factor for sure. I just got my PS3 last week and a few times i forgot it was still even running it is so quite. I’m an achievement slut so that is what makes me choose 360 over ps3 on multi-format games. I do love my new PS3 though and I’m glad that I finally have one.
