New Tony Hawk Game Given A Title
Milking the Tony Hawk cow’s teats utterly sore, Activision is known to be at work on the second game to utilize the skateboard peripheral that came packaged with last year’s dismal Tony Hawk: Ride. Thanks to the man the franchise is named after we now know the title it’s going to bear come release day.
Earlier this week Tony Hawk himself tweeted:
“Tony Hawk: Shred. There, I said it. Actually, I named it. Somewhere a PR team is reeling.”
Knowing his working buddies at Activision all too well, the post was soon deleted, followed by official word from the horse’s mouth:
“We can confirm we’ve given a name to the next Tony Hawk game - Tony Hawk: Shred - and more details will be revealed in the coming months.”
We’re not entirely sure whether Tony Hawk: Shred will be a sequel to Ride or a standalone, new entry in the franchise but since Activision oh so dearly wishes to justify that hard-earned cash consumers ponied up for the peripheral, plus sell some more balance boards (with a new paint-coat, no less) in the process, a Ride follow-up is a safe bet.
Expect to hear more on the game “in the coming months.” In other words, at E3 2010 in June.
