Crysis 2 Delayed to 2011, NFS Shift 2 Confirmed
At its fiscal Q1 earnings call today, Electronic Arts had some good news and some bad news to share with its investors. First the bad news – surprisingly, Crysis 2 won’t be coming out this Fall and is now scheduled to hit store shelves in 2011. And now the good news – following the acclaim of Need for Speed Shift, EA has confirmed that a sequel is in development.
Now set for release sometime between January 1 and March 31, 2011, Crysis 2 has been delayed for two reasons: to be moved to “a better marketing window,” in other words, to stay clear of Halo: Reach and Call of Duty: Black Ops, and to give Crytek more time to iron out the kinks.
Besides confirming its existence and saying it’s coming early next year, EA had no more information to share on Need for Speed: Shift 2.
