EA not using full potential of Playstation 3
In an interview with Glenn Entis, who is the Vice President and Chief Visual Officer at EA, he said that the PS3 is a very complex piece of equipment and that they’re currently only able to utilize 20% of its power. Even with games looking as good as Fight Night 3, it’s going to take them a while to take full advantage of all the power.
While it’s no secret anymore that games on consoles mature over time in terms of graphics and processing power, EA admitting it is pretty fun to hear. This is because a lot of those games are cross platform and they’re not designed with a specific console in mind. Games like Need for Speed and the sports series will probably never take full advantage of the console because that would take too much time and money. Entis also admitted that programming for the Playstation 3 was more difficult than they originally anticipated and there were some challenges that they didn’t expect. The man obviously has faith in the studios developing for this machine and is confident they’ll master the art of Playstation 3 programming eventually.
“The whole industry knows it’s been a challenge; the PS3’s a very complex piece of equipment. On one hand it’s a challenge, on the other hand there’s tremendous potential in that box. I think it’s going to take developers a little while to figure out how to unlock that power.
We’ve got games coming out now where we feel we’ve hit maybe 20 per cent of the potential of PlayStation 3. We know the power’s there, but like any new platform it’s going to take us a little bit of time to unleash it.
Other developers will probably disagree with Entis’ statement, because saying you’re releasing a title which only uses a small percentage of its power may not be the best advertisement.

Wow. EA must have plugged in there “Raw Power O-Meter” to tell them that they only hit 20% of the PS3’s power. I say that if Sony wanted to display the power of the PS3, they should have developed a kick ass game to show off this “power”. what ever happend to Killzone 2???
They got bored after making countless hours of CGI to pass off as gameplay footage and so decided to deal massive damage to giant crabs.
Thank God for that REAL TIME weapon change.
The very definition of innovation! XD
lol you (commenters) are so dumb when it comes to videogames
read some of this http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34741
EA will never use more than 50% of any playstation, this was the case with ps1 and also with ps2 or 3.
LOL you are so up your own arse I wonder how you manage to type from inside your own sphincter.
EA never use the full potential of any machine never mind PS purley because everything they make is cross format and done in a half arsed stylie.
Wow, giving them even half an ass working? I would say that they have 20% employees without their head up their ass, and those 20 are working on wii and 360
yea right thets like 100% of the power there using
