Splinter Cell Double Agent coming to PS3
If you own a PS3 (or plan to buy one if you’re in Europe) and you’re a Splinter Cell fan then you’ll be happy to know that Ubisoft has brought you a rather late Christmas present by announcing Splinter Cell Double Agent for the PS3.
“Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent is already a best-seller and has set a new standard for the Splinter Cell series,” said Yves Guillemot, CEO at Ubisoft. “I am sure that Double Agent will prove to be a must-have title for PLAYSTATION 3 system.”
To make the game more appealing to PS3 owners, Ubisoft has stated that they will be including more multiplayer maps and skins. However, Xbox 360 owners need not worry as they will most likely be able to download these from the Xbox Live Marketplace. The game will also take advantage of the PS3’s SIXAXIS motion-sensing feature in both single and multiplayer modes.
Splinter Cell Double Agent, which was released for the Xbox 360 back in October and received a decent review, is scheduled for a March 2007 release to coincide with the European launch of Sony’s next-gen console.
