It was announced earlier that Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection would become available as a download in the Playstation 3 store, but a date was never mentioned. Apparently the game has arrived and it’ll set you back 2000 Yen and in return you get a 800MB large game.

The game is currently only available in Japan but if you’re non-Japanese you should be able to purchase it as well if your credit card permits you. If you’re willing to try this, you should just create another master account and set your location to Japan or Hong Kong. A lot of people are encountering problems with purchasing DLC in a different region because of credit cards not being accepted. Fear not, Tekken 5 should become available in the United States eventually but a date hasn’t been given.

This game is not built from the ground up, but it’s actually a port of the Arcade version and it won’t look as good as a regular Playstation 3 title but you can’t really expect that of a less than $20 game. If Sony can keep the cheap quality games like this flowing to the Playstation store, it might become very popular. Its advantage over the Xbox Live Marketplace on the Xbox 360 is that it’s not bound to a crappy 50MB limit and they’re actually releasing good looking titles for it instead of mediocre new IPs.
