Six new downloadable titles announced
Sony Online Entertainment announced that it has licensed the rights for six classic games from Midway. These games will be developed for the Playstation 3 platform to be released later on in the Playstation store. The titles have been specifically chosen because of their multiplayer capabilities which means you can either challenge someone in your living room or via the internet.
No exact release dates has been given for these titles but at least one of them will be released in early 2007. It’s to be expected that the rest will follow later this year because the games are rather simplistic and wouldn’t take too much time converting them.
Each title was specifically chosen because of its multiplayer capability, allowing players to experience each of these classics with their friends in the comfort of their own living room, or anywhere else through an internet connection. All of the titles will be offered for PLAYSTATION 3 system download exclusively through the PLAYSTATION Network.
- The Upcoming titles are:
- Mortal Kombat II
- Gauntlet II
- Joust
- Rampage World Tour
- Rampart
- Championship Sprint
A version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 was released earlier on the Xbox live Marketplace so that might be the reason why they’ve chosen MKII for the PS3. Not that it’s really a big deal since many people consider Mortal Kombat 2 a better game than UMK3 anyway.

everytime new titles are released, the PSP needs a bleedin’ update. I had to update my PSP to version 3.03 because it said new playstation games can be played under [GAME]
I had to update mine as well
These are PS3 games, not PS1 for PSP games, right?
I could see buying Rampage. I loved that game as a kid. Great fun smashing up buildings.
PS3 games indeed.
Would love to give MK2 a go. Still have many fond memories of it…
