PSP Camera released - Go!Cam
Owning a PSP and a memory stick is pretty much like owning a camera, there’s a screen and storage, with enough buttons for zoom and the like, but the functionality to take pictures has yet eluded the little device. But now, the long awaited announcement for a PSP video camera has finally been made, the Go!Cam for PSP.
The USB device for the PSP, Go!Cam, offers not only a high quality lens to turn the PSP into a camera, but a built in microphone as well. The lens can be spun 180 degrees providing a point and shoot interface for objects in front or the ability to look directly into the camera and see the image on the PSP screen. Perfect for taking narcissistic photos.

Bundled free with the Go!Cam will also be Go!Edit software, providing editing on the move. Some of the features include the ability to edit film, audio and photos with sound and graphical effects. The software will also provide the means to upload creations directly to the internet.
From the release;
”Go!Cam is an exciting product for PSP owners looking for something new, fun and creative,” said Patrick Lagana “Go!Cam quickly converts your PSP in a mini camcorder, allowing you to shoot stills or video quality that’s perfectly suited for email, upload or video editing or even playback on your PLAYSTATION 3. It demonstrates yet again the potential, versatility and fun nature of PSP.”
The Go!Cam went on sale in Europe on May 16th at a price of GBP 34.99, or EUR 49.99.
Go!Cam will be released in Australia on the 21st of June this year at a recommended retail price of $79.95.
Though this may seem late for European readers, Australia has only just received the release and a date.
