The anticipated Playstation 3 online only game, Warhawk, has been open for Beta testing for a few weeks now. While there are more than a lucky few that have been accepted and are currently in the midst of testing, a few of those disappointed by their rejection have found ways to hack into, and participate, in the Warhawk beta trials.

Over at the QJ.net forums, poster mhsmiq posted instructions on how to access the Warhawk beta without an invite. While being a long and extravagant process, explained step-by-step, the procedure has been confirmed to work by other posters. Says TheRaiderNation, “i did that [follow the instructions], let me just say warhawk online maybe be the best damn thing ive ever experienced in my life”.

The legality of the process is in question, with speculation that those caught will be locked out of the completed Warhawk once it’s released, while others rumour your Playstation 3 console or PSN ID may be banned. Although, there is no information to suggest Sony would ban the console as Microsoft is doing, however having your PSN account locked would be more than plausible.

Another poster, Nevada, mentioned SCEA were beginning to ban uninvited players from their servers already;

“As it stands there is no copy protection on the installer, it hasn’t been mentioned but this is more than likely a method to catch+ban users who have been using the method to steal purchaseable items without actually paying.

As great as the beta is, given that they can, and more than likely will, ban all users who played the beta without a legitimate beta-holding account installed on their ps3, in the many updates that will be coming before retail.

It’s happening already, especially on the official SCEA servers.”

However, at present, none of the uninvited beta testers from QJ.net have been banned, though it seems probable they will eventually.
