Motorstorm update available or not?
Something weird has happened. Felice Standifer, who’s the producer for Motorstorm claims that the long awaited Motorstorm update 1.2 has been postponed due to a nasty bug. Now the weird thing is that if you fire up Motorstorm and head to the online section of the game, it says there’s an update available, and you can even download the new Time Attack mode from the Playstation Store.
Right now the patch and new game mode are only available in Europe. The Time Attack mode is only 100KB large so it shouldn’t take long to download. But be warned, if you download the new game mode from the Playstation store without updating the game itself, it’s possible that you can’t play anymore, both online and offline.
A logical explanation would be that they released the patch too early and found out about the bug that’s causing the network problems afterwards. In that case it’s probably only a matter of time before they pull the patch and the item from the Playstation Store. If you don’t really care about the online mode you’d better hurry up before it’s too late, since Standifer didn’t mention a new date yet.
Hi everyone. I’m Felice Standifer, Sr. US Producer for MotorStorm. I understand everyone is rarin’ to go with the MotorStorm updates and believe me, we are too. But right before we were planning to go live with the 1.2 updates with Time Attack mode, a new issue was found on the patch that could result in people not being able to establish a network connection. So, unfortunately, for now we need to continue to run tests and monitor the fix to ensure that it does not occur when the patch goes live. I play Motorstorm religiously and *love* the new Time Attack mode, and I think you will too. Of course, it’s in the best interest for everyone that we resolve this before we release the update. Bear with us, we’ll have it out as quickly as we can and ensure the bug doesn’t cause any problems for future updates. More to come.

I downloaded the update in the UK and have suffered no ill effects so far!
No problems here either, just make sure you patch the game up to v1.2 BEFORE you download the time attack mode and you’ll be just fine. If, for some reason, you do it the other way around your screen will go black when you fire up the game. If that’s the case just reboot your system, delete the game data (not your save games :))and try again.
Well if people are too dumb to follow the instructions its there own falt its not rocket science.

If you saw the Time Attack update on the PS3 Store and in your excitment rushed to download it with out reading the instructions and now all you see is a black screen when you load Motorstorm fear not. There are 2 easy fixes for this problem.
1) If you have already downloaded the Time Attack update from the PS3 store and you are now unable to load Motorstorm simply load your PS3 go to the Game option on the XMB and select Game Data Utility (NOT I repeat NOT!!! the Save Data Utility).
In the Game Data Utility you should see Motorstorm Update 1.1, Delete this by pressing triangle and choosing delete.
Now insert the Motorstorm Blu Ray and it will load, choose online and it will automatically tell you there is an update available, let it install the upade which will be patch 1.2.
Now reset your PS3 and when it loads go to the PS3 Store and download the Time Attack update, it will install automatically and when you next play Motorstorm it will all work just fine.
2) For those of you who have not yet downloaded the Time Attack update:
Insert the Motorstorm Blu Ray and it will load, choose online and it will automatically tell you there is an update available, let it install the upade which will be patach 1.2.
Now reset your PS3 and when it loads go to the PS3 Store and download the Time Attack update, it will install automatically and when you next play Motorstorm it will all work just fine.
Am I the only person who updated it after downloading the patch? Cause my game works perfectly.
I follow the instructions and do that.But when i boot up the game time attack didnt work!!I searched all menu,and it just didnt work!!Help!!
