I would like to see an update similar to the Xbox360 whereby original games discs can be downloaded and played from the hard drive rather than the disc drive. I use this feature all the time on my 360 as I find it cuts down on heat emmission and obviously preserves the life of the disc drive and games discs. How about it PLEASE!!!

Lots of enthusiasm and general good feeling here, not much on the detail.

I must mention that firmware 2.20 really messed up network streaming of video - a function that had worked wonderfully ever since I bought the PS3 at rev 1.7something.

Looking forward to getting my PS3 video streaming back - and that fanless PS3 would be a "cool" thing too, the current fan noise is loud enough to hear over the dishwasher!

The only issue i have with the ps3 is no live gameplay. So i would like to know when sony plans on making the ps3 capable of what it should be. I bought the ps3 for the cell. the x-box seems to make a mockery out of the ps3 when it comes to live action. This does not seem possible when you compare the two. It should be the other way around. I love my ps3 but do not understand why when it comes to games the console seems to be mentally challenged? This should (To Me) not even be a case with this high end system. I could care less about psp and ps3 interlinking. I care how well my ps3 works as a powerhouse. Right now i am just a little frustrated with the hole thing. I was told by a sony representative that thew dont care how well the game is but just that it works on the ps3. I am appalled at such an uncaring response. And i really question what my future game console purchase will be. We were sold on power and instead we get all these unnecesary psp to ps3 upgrades. I want smooth awsome cell proscessing gaming power. Thats it. If i dont own a psp the options only take up my hdd space. As it is im also upset they are selling an 80 gig for the same cost it costed me for a 60 gig. Dont theese console makers care about the people they highjack! This systems capabilities are way oversold. I just want a solid gaming system. I guess i should shell out more for that like the x-box 360 does to all its consumers. Wow man. Wow

when is the xmb dashboard going to be able to be accessed ingame like the 360? Also, when is the voichchat issue going to be fixed. i never experience the kind of choppy chat problems on the 360. If these 2 things along with lag are fixed I'll get rid of the 360 but until then the online play and communication tools have a lot of catching up to do.

It's hard to answer that question. The Playstation 3 has a potentially more powerful CPU, but the GPUs from both systems are quite similar, with maybe a small advantage for the Xbox 360.

My question is a very simple one: is there any forthcoming upgrade that can eventually radically upgrade the cinematic quality of future games, well beyond what I could expect on an Xbox360? I have put off purchasing a "next gen" console because I have not seen a truly "next gen' improvement in this area worth me spending an addition few hundred dollars to replace my old Xbox and PS2 consoles. Ny only interest is in graphics. OTherwise, there are still plenty of older games for me to play on my older consoles. Thanks.
