Firmware 1.90 released in Japan, Europe & US tomorrow
Just as expected, firmware update 1.90 has just been released in Japan and contains a few very nice features. North American and European users will be able to download the file tomorrow. The full list of updates can be found inside.
As you can see below you’re finally able to customize the XMB a little with custom backgrounds and the ability to rearrange games. We’re also one step closer to accessing the XMB while playing games, as you can now change certain video and upscaling settings and see the result immediately.
- Ability to rearrange games on the XMB
- Option menu now includes “eject disk”
- Press triangle to eject games/CDs/movies in the XMB
- XMB backgrounds
- Change the folder classification
- Emoticons
- Change CD output to 44.1/88.2/176.4kHz
- Force 24Hz output for Blu-ray over HDMI
- Change PS3 video settings in-game
- “Bit Mapping” in the “Music Setting”
- Save AVCHD type animations from a Memory Stick
- Change settings like upscaling while playing PS and PS2 games
- Add bookmarks
- Web browser security function in the browser’s tool section
- Avatar moves during audio visual chat

yess i nop it sound stupid but that exactly what i wanted, eject game by the option or by triangle, i wanted it coz wen u do it by the button u get finger prints on da ps3 n it looks untidy, i no it sounds stupid but i really wanted that. THAKNS SONY!!!!!
i didnt update the one before 1.9, will i need to download both updates? Or just the latest or what?

Is it possible to change from the US firmware to an European one? I want to give my PS3 to a friend in Europe.
Its a step in the right direction. But I’m alittle confused..they mean the screen behind the mb ?
