Rock Band graced with several new songs

Throughout the past year, numerous new franchises have evolved upon aging genres: Guitar Hero was one of such titles. Mainstream consumers could experience the thrill of playing an instrument without learning chords and the like- something no other game had successfully accomplished. Rock Band, the latest music title from the original creators of Guitar Hero, continues to up the ante on their original idea: guitar, bass, drums, and vocal parts can be combined to replicate a “rock band” experience. Today, Harmonix has revealed several new songs to add to the game’s already stellar track list.

In a head-to-head competition with Guitar Hero 3 and it’s new developer Neversoft, Harmonix is trying to not only include famous guitar pieces, but also songs that feature catchy vocal parts and captivating drum solos. Three of the newly announced titles, which are listed below, further prove the goal of Rock Band:

  • Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden
  • Dani California - The Red Hot Chili Peppers
  • Detroit Rock City - KISS
